This is also Coach Duane Casey’s first year of coaching here at Desert Vista. Coach Duane Casey began coaching junior high and high school basketball at private schools in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. After moving to Phoenix, he became a head coach at two local charter schools, winning the Charter School State Championship for both his junior high and high school teams in 1999. He was the head coach for the AAU-Team Arizona (14-year old and under), and co-coached multiple Team AZ teams for many years; winning several local and national tournaments. At least 60 of his former players have attended or are attending Division 1, 2, and 3 universities and community colleges. In addition to his coaching responsibilities here at Desert Vista, Coach Casey currently works at the corporate office of US Airways.
